SEY Coat of Arms: “The End Crowns The Work”

With no indigenous people, the Seychelles was found by sailors, Vasco de Gama and 4th Portuguese India armada in 1503, and settled by small groups from Mauritius and ReUnion. The Seychelles life lines have always been boats, until the airport was built in 1972.

Schooners were the traditional island suppliers, small pirogues for fishing the main food source. The Seychellois have been on and in the water from the very start. The flying fish logo represents that confirmation that it’s going to be a great day on the water, no matter how often you see flying fish, they are always a spectacle and one finds themselves following their flights when ever spotted.
